Importing your Google Analytics history

Changing measurement tool normally costs a year of hindsight. This import avoids that loss.

In short

Pulsar can retrieve your Google Analytics history and show it before your installation date. Year-on-year comparison therefore remains possible from day one.

Running the import

  1. 1 Open Settings, Google Analytics.
  2. 2 Authorise access with a Google account holding at least read access on the property.
  3. 3 Choose the property and the period to bring over.
  4. 4 The import runs in the background, allow a few minutes per year.

What is brought over, and what is not

The import brings over daily volumes, sources, pages and countries. It brings over neither custom events, nor goals, nor commerce data, whose definitions do not transpose.

Imported data is marked as such in the interface. It does not mix with Pulsar's own measurement: you always know where a figure comes from.

The gap between the imported history and Pulsar's measurement at switchover is normal, and is explained by blocking and consent. A guide is devoted to it.
