Excluding your own visits

On a low-traffic site, the team looking at it can account for half the measured visits.

In short

Add your IP addresses to the account exclusions, and your visits stop being counted on all your sites. The exclusion applies at collection, so immediately and with no effect on history.

Adding an exclusion

Exclusions are set at account level and apply to all your sites. The page shows the address you are browsing from, which saves you looking it up elsewhere.

  1. 1 Open Settings, Exclusions.
  2. 2 Add the address shown, or your office address.
  3. 3 Save: the exclusion applies within a few minutes.

What an exclusion does not do

  • It does not change history. Visits already measured stay counted.
  • It does not follow a changing address. A home connection often changes address, and a colleague's home will not stay excluded.
  • It does not cover mobile connections, whose address depends on the carrier.
